Electrical BoQs often list items that do not fit a room-by-room wiring estimate: an MCB of a given rating and poles, a junction box with its terminals and glands, conduit couplers, flexible conduit. Quite often they arrive as one lump sum with a list of components beneath it.
This calculator does not assume what the job is. You build it from components, and every part is yours to change.
Components come from a price list of MCBs (by poles and rating band), junction and loop-in boxes, terminal connectors, cable glands and lugs, PVC and flexible conduit, conduit fittings and cable. Each has a materials price and the labour to fit it.
Sets group components that go together and say how many of them there are. A junction box with four terminals, an MCB and two glands is one set; if you need twelve of them, enter twelve sets. For a simple list of items, keep one set.
Custom items have your own name, unit and prices, for anything the price list does not have. You can also type your own price on any price-list line.
Inside the BoQ import, choose "Price with a calculator" on a lump-sum electrical line. The calculator reads each sub-line into rows: an MCB is matched by its rating and poles, glands by the size of the cable, and anything it does not recognise becomes your own line to price. Where the BoQ says "each", set the number of sets. Then check the rows, add any missing quantities, and apply the total as the rate for the line.
MCB prices come from Nigerian retail listings; other starting rates have not been updated recently, so replace them with your own quotes.
