Post concrete needed0.30 m³

One post per panel end plus one closing post; ~0.02 m³ concrete per post hole

How it works

Panels needed equals total length divided by panel width, rounded up. Posts are always one more than the number of panels — one post at each end of every panel, plus one closing post. Each post hole requires approximately 0.02 m³ of concrete for a standard 75–100mm post in Nigerian soils.

Formula

Panels = ceil(Length / Panel width)
Posts = Panels + 1
Concrete (m³) = Posts × 0.02

Tips for accurate results

1For block perimeter compound walls, use the Block Wall Estimator instead of this calculator.
2Set fence posts at least 600mm into the ground — deeper in sandy or clay-heavy soils.
3Use naturally durable hardwood (Iroko) or pressure-treated posts for longevity outdoors.
4For chain-link or barbed wire perimeter fencing, posts are typically spaced at 3m centres.
