Standard 4.8m board length; deduct openings from wall width

How it works

The effective cover of each board is its face width minus the lap overlap (typically 25–40mm). Rows needed equals wall height divided by effective cover. Each row uses wall width divided by 4.8m board length, rounded up. Deduct door and window openings before entering wall dimensions.

Formula

Effective cover (m) = (Board width - Overlap) / 1000
Rows = Wall height / Effective cover
Boards = Rows × ceil(Width / 4.8)

Tips for accurate results

1Use stainless steel or hot-dip galvanised fixings to prevent rust staining on the board face.
2Allow a 2mm vertical gap between board ends for thermal expansion in the Nigerian heat.
3Apply a full-coverage primer coat before installation for best durability and paint adhesion.
4Deduct the area of all door and window openings from your wall measurements before calculating.
